Soil carbon credits from

Soil carbon credits from European farms

Rebuilding soil, one farm at a time.

Carbon removals and reductions from working farmland, verified under Verra VM0042 and issued in the Verra registry. Each credit stands for one tonne of CO₂e.

Credit buyers make it possible

Changing practices costs a farmer money and risk in the first years. Credit revenue pays for that transition, so the soil starts storing carbon instead of losing it.

Farms stay farms. Yields don’t drop, practices just get smarter.

Europe is losing its soil. This is how it gets rebuilt.

EU cropland loses about 0.3 t CO₂ per hectare every year.

Every credit works twice: once for the climate, once for the soil, water and biodiversity underneath it.

* Plants take in CO₂, keep the carbon and release the oxygen. Soil stores carbon, not CO₂. We count in tonnes of CO₂ because that is the climate impact: 1 t of carbon stored in soil equals about 3.67 t of CO₂ removed from the atmosphere (44/12, the ratio of their molecular weights).

Real farms. Real farmers.

More than 3,500 farmers in ten European countries work on the eAgronom platform. Behind every credit is one of them.

“I didn’t adopt new practices just for the carbon credits. I started using them because they made economic sense. With strip-till, I’ve cut the number of passes over the field, my fuel use and my working time. These are real savings that I see every year. I see carbon credits as an extra reward for practices that were already benefiting my farm.”

How we make sure one credit equals one tonne

We check for what other credits skip: additionality, leakage and modelling uncertainty, all accounted for and credited conservatively.

Additionality

Additionality

Three years of field-level history before a farm is credited, and a 20-year land-use review on every enrolled field.

Leakage

Leakage

Crop yields are monitored on every field, and fuel and fertiliser use is tracked, so shifted production and added emissions are deducted.

Uncertainty

Uncertainty

A soil model validated by external experts, 2,000 simulations every crediting cycle, and soil sampling every five years in an ISO-accredited lab.
